Personalised Bridesmaid Boxes

Personalised Bridesmaid Boxes

Your bridesmaids are a very important part of your big day. Not only on the day itself but in the time leading up to the wedding as well. They become your support network and are there to share the highs and lows with you. That is why I decided to make something special for my bridesmaids, by making personalised bridesmaid boxes!

As I mentioned before, I’m getting married soon (yay!).

I wasn’t quite sure what to get my bridesmaids, but I knew I wanted to do something a little more personal. So I did what most people in my situation do – I went on Pinterest for some inspiration!

Seriously, if there is one site you need while planning your wedding it’s Pinterest. Use it to create mood boards for everything from the flowers to the wedding dress, cake, favours, and everything in between. The only bad thing about using it is that you end up with a million different ideas and it can be really difficult to narrow things down. Especially when you are constrained by your budget!!

One idea I came across was bridesmaid boxes.

Making the Bridesmaid Boxes

Now, many people use it to “propose” to their bridesmaids, but since mine aren’t all in the same location, I couldn’t really do this. By the time I gave them the boxes they had already said yes, so I included thank you notes instead.

I wanted the boxes to reflect the theme of the wedding, which was Latin-inspired since I’m part Peruvian and we are serving Latin-inspired street food at the wedding.

The boxes included:

  • A mini bottle of sparkling wine
  • Nail polish
  • Floral candles
  • Thank you note
  • Tropical flower hair clip

You can see some of the boxes here:

I made the thank you notes myself as I was in the mood to get a little creative. I simply used some card I bought at Paperchase and then painted the tropical leaves around the border. I used a bit of tape to create the border so I would get nice smooth edges. I used a gold gel pen to write out the thank you and added some diamantes that I bought from the pound shop and Amazon.

I chose green nail polish as, at the time, the bridesmaid dresses were going to be green, so it was just a little something that matched the colour scheme.

I also bought tropical flower hair clips for everyone. I got them off Etsy and they are absolutely gorgeous! The idea is to wear them at the hen do (bachelorette party), but they added that perfect tropical touch to the boxes. If you like the look of them, I recommend you check out Diablo Jo’s Esty shop – she has some gorgeous clips for sale.

I bought the boxes from Paperchase and lines these with tissue paper. I wanted to further personalise the boxes, so added the initials of each bridesmaid to their box.

I did this by purchasing small wooden letters from Amazon and spray painting them gold. Then I just stuck them onto the box, along with some diamontes.

I also bought an artificial orchid from the pound shop and took the individual flowers off, then stuck them onto the boxes.

All in all, I really enjoyed making these boxes. I kind of wish I had put a little more time into the gifts inside – I think they could have been filled up a bit more and maybe added gifts that were personal for each bridesmaid. However, the girls really liked the boxes and I think they appreciated the gesture.
