How to wear…the blazer

I’m loving blazers at the moment. They really dress up any outfit and there are so many different styles out there. I bought an 80s blue blazer on ebay and thought I’d show you 3 different ways to wear it.

Casual

Like I said, blazers can dress up any outfit, including a plain white t-shirt and jeans. I took some inspiration from Kate Moss in this new ad:

Night Out

I love wearing a blazer over a dress for a night out. As this is an 80s blazer I was inspired and decided to pair it with neon pink heels and a fitted black glitter dress.

The dress and necklace are from ASOS, the bag was my mom’s and I bought the heels on a trip to London, I think at Piccadilly market.

Androgynous

I thought I would try out the androgynous trend, as it’s pretty big at the moment. I took some inspiration from this:

I paired my blazer with a shirt (M&S) and a cravat which I had bought in a vintage shop once. I also wore some lipstick to try and keep it feminine.

I’m not too sure about the results, but it was fun giving it a shot!

I love my…

I just thought I’d share a couple of things I own which I currently love wearing.

Firstly, my ASOS lace brogues.

I got these in the ASOS sale and love them! They’re cute, comfortable and versatile. I wear them during the day or on nights out. I love brogues and these are great as they’re just a little different.

My H&M bib necklace.

I’m still loving the bib necklace and this one from H&M was a great find. Again, I got it on sale! Bib necklaces are fantastic as you can dress up any plain T-shirt or dress and take it from day to night.

Ok, I can’t actually remember where I bought this sequined collar necklace from. I just came across it while I was at the airport waiting for my flight. It’s from the high street and, of course, it was on sale. Another great way to dress up an outfit.

ASOS Fashion Finder

I’m a big fan of the ASOS Fashion Finder site and it’s what inspired me to start a blog. I thought I’d share some of my outfits and why not start with competition winners?

I was lucky enough to win 2nd place with this outfit in the Starbucks Trend Blend competition. ASOS does some fantastic competitions and I was so happy to actually win one! Especially as there are lots of talented users out there who have really inspired me. You should really check this site out if you’re interested in fashion as it can be really inspiring and gives you some great ideas on the latest trends and how to wear them. This outfit was made with a beach trip in mind, adding some bright neon pieces to brighten it up.

This outfit won 3rd place for another round of the Starbucks Trend Blend competition. Inspired by 80s fashion, I used a neon fitted dress and printed jacket. I loved the idea of piling on the jewellery, so added a bunch of chain bracelets.

I love playing around with different trends and mixing and matching pieces you might not normally see together. Most of all I just have fun with it and it’s a great way to inspire yourself to take some fashion risks.

Oriental Trend 2012

The oriental trend is big for fall, with Jason Wu and Dries van Noten being great examples of the trend on the catwalk.

Here’s how I’m wearing it:

The kimono is a great way to wear this trend. There are lots of options on the high street and they’re easy to wear and comfortable. You can dress them up for a night out, or just keep it casual in a t-shirt and jeans. I got this one from ASOS, although last time I looked it had sold out. You can also find some great dresses in oriental prints or styles, so keep your eyes out.
